Cannabis Networking: What's Wrong and How to Fix It

Networking in the cannabis industry is fraught with self-promotion and lack of real connection. This is true of most networking, actually. I have been to a ton of these types of events in so many industries, and here I share some thoughts on how to do better across the board, from organizing these events to how to participate in them.

There are many problems with networking in any industry, let alone the cannabis industry:

1. People are self-serving and only looking to exploit the conversation to accomplish their agenda

2. As a result, people don't connect in many real human ways

3. Conference and networking event organizers make the format conflicting to the values of putting the right people in the right space to connect and collaborate

Feel free to comment or reach out with thoughts, disagreements, questions or ideas of your own on how to fix this
