Articles and Interviews
As a marketing veteran, Brad breaks down the world of cannabis in this conversation with Skipper. There are stops along the way to talk about Shakespeare, punk rock, William Randolph Hurst, how the illegality of marijuana affects the prison/jail system in this country, the history of reefer madness, how President-elect Biden and speaker Pelosi are closer in age to the assasination of Lincoln than to the present day, H.R.3884 - MORE Act, and the tobacco industry among other subjects.
Knowing what marketing and sales channels to use won’t get you anywhere if you don’t know how to tell a compelling story about your brand. The most technology forward marketing strategists still need good content to be able to succeed.
This was one of my favorite interviews with Bruce Eckfeldt. We cover why theatre was so informative to my marketing and branding career.
In this episode of Cannabis Tech Talks, Editor-in-Chief Charles Warner had the opportunity to talk with Brad Bogus, VP of Marketing at Confident Cannabis. Confident Cannabis is the world’s first technology solution to bring transparency and consistency to legal cannabis through data and insights.
On October 29th, 2019 I spoke with Brad Bogus, the VP of Growth at Confident Cannabis, about the developing psychedelics industry, and specifically the possibility of a similar database being launched for psilocybin mushrooms.
Of all the conversations punk rocker aficionado Brad Bogus wanted to nail, it was an interview with the former Music Editor, now Editor-in-Chief, of the Denver Post’s vertical The Cannabist, Ricardo Baca. The interview took place in 2016, post legalization, and before Brad Bogus had a clue his career would be changed forever in the cannabis space.
The beginning stages of a new State legalizing rec cannabis is exciting, but what comes next is anything but a smooth ride. Market conditions are constantly changing and staying on top of trends while predicting the future is critical for success. Our guest is Brad Bogus, VP of Marketing for Confident Cannabis, a data driven wholesale platform. We discuss how individual State markets are changing and consumer trends as cannabis goes mainstream.
I spoke with Brad Bogus, vice president of marketing and growth, about why he believed the OLCC was incorrect in their assessment. “The OLCC admits to taking the most straightforward approach to calculating supply,” he says, “which is to try and convert all the different products out there into ‘units’ of THC.... METRC, the state’s source of truth on product inventory and ownership, can’t just spit out a singular inventory total—everything is tracked differently.”
Bogus also pointed out that some news reports from the past year may have exaggerated the oversupply problem in Oregon – in particular, those that said Oregon had a cannabis supply that could last 6½ years. “The hysteria around a fundamentally misunderstood data point has probably led to a reduction in supply because of businesses choosing to stop growing cannabis,” he added.
The CBD craze doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon. Green Growth Brands, a company that operates CBD stores across the country, announced a new deal with Brookfield Properties Monday to open more than 70 shops at Brookfield malls. Brad Bogus, Vice President of Growth and Marketing at Confident Cannabis, discusses what this means for the larger CBD market.
