HiBnb is an online marketplace for #420friendly rentals and adventures. Marketplace go-to-market strategies are trickier than product marketing strategies, because you have to engage in two-sided acquisition: guests and hosts, supply and demand.

I prepared a thorough and researched go to market strategy for both sides, covering the following:

  • paid and organic growth strategies

  • influencer marketing and pr activations

  • referral program

  • affiliate and channel marketing tracking system

  • email marketing

  • strategic partnerships

  • community management and host acquisition tactics through online community groups and forums

With that in place, I was able to help guide the investor deck to cover the GTM strategy for both sides of the marketplace, as well as build formulas in the financial model to account for the cost of a referral program and fine tune advertising, marketing, and team composition assumptions in the budget.

CA7CH Lightbox | Finding Market Validation on Kickstarter

CA7CH Lightbox Founder, Rom Eisenburg, approached our team (Speak Social) through LinkedIn about his upcoming Kickstarter campaign that was getting ready to launch. Rom felt that his product was ready for Kickstarter, but wasn’t sure how to support the campaign on Social Media and through Digital Ad placement. This is where we knew we could help. 

The campaign had a few major goals:

  1. Receive almost 2X on the funding goal ($150k w/ a public goal of $80k)

  2. Use this success to prove market validation to investors

  3. Capture customer data and ad data to use as a customer base for future product marketing

Mishmi Takin | Crowdfunding an Innovative Approach to Outdoor Apparel

Mishmi Takin is a shoe and outerwear brand created by Kapil Dev Sign to solve the problem of breathable shoes and jackets needed in the rain forest of Congo or skiing the slopes in Colorado. His ventilation-focused design maximizes air flow, removes the sweat as soon as it is generated and keeps you cool and dry even in humid conditions. So he contacted our team about creating a social media presence for his brand and then taking Mishmi Takin to Indiegogo for a crowdfunding campaign.

Here is some of our success:

  • Funding on Kickstarter – $66, 527 (exceeded goal by 2x)

  • Funding on Indiegogo - $83,282 (all on top of goal, making goal exceeded in total by over 4.5X)

  • Total Ad Placement – $10,187

  • CPC – $0.32

  • Total impressions – 998,524
