Make it stand out.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you need to rapidly scale your customer base. Or maybe your organization needs to change the behavior of society. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
City of Austin - Place It & Space It Campaign
At Speak Social, we worked on a campaign with the City of Austin regarding their Place It & Space It initiative. In Austin, amazing amounts of efficiency is decreased when residents place their trash and recycling cans directly next to each other on the street. Pick-up crews need at least 5 feet between the cans so that the trucks can back-in, quickly lift and empty the bins.
It’s not easy to get that message out there in a way that people will pay attention or care. Creatively, we found a number of ways to meet the goal using creative online video content:
Short, animated video showing multiple items that fit in 5ft, animated by the amazing Powerhouse Animation Studios
Longer music video shot live in Austin, w/ a custom jingle by Texas artist Joey Wells
Content created for Youtube and social media, distributed through multiple channels throughout City of Austin accounts
Impact: 25% reduction in trash bins placed too close together - this drastically reduced time spent per household by the pickup crew, and reduced time in trucks on neighborhood roads
Athletic DNA - #BornForThis Video Contest
ADNA is an edgy tennis apparel brand founded by top collegiate players and professionals. Their brand is dedicated to the journey of becoming a world class athlete. Celebrating the trials and tribulations that shapes an athlete’s character is key and they recognize the perseverance, dedication, and passion it takes to succeed.
They needed to get this message out to young players rising up the ranks, the ones grinding it out from morning to night. We crafted a social media and SEO strategy around a user-generated video contest. We understood, in 2012, that a combination of video media, user engagement, and influencer strategy would not only make a killer SEO strategy, it would directly drive sales of their products.
#BornForThis was the campaign, and it called for young athletes to demonstrate in a 1 min. or less video that they have what it takes, that they’re Born For This. Using sponsored pros, we got the message out on Youtube, distributed through all the social channels, and drove massive results:
Brand reach increased on Facebook alone by 3000% (this was a stated main goal by the brand)
Achieved 1st ranking position on Youtube for “tennis clothes” and 80% of the hits on page 1
Web traffic more than tripled the month of the contest, from 3k to 11k hits
Web traffic for the year went up ~50%
